Akoma Unity Center Needs Volunteers for Toy/Coat Giveaway

Those in need can RSVP now

Akoma Unity Center will be handing out toys, clothes, and shoes to children in San Bernardino on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Anne Shirrells Park (1367 N. California St., San Bernardino, CA 92411). Last year, the Center served about 250 children and demand for assistance has only increased. If you would like to be a part of this initiative, sign-up to volunteer or donate monetary gifts or unopened toys and/or brand new or gently used clothes, coats, and shoes. Donations can be dropped off Monday through Friday anytime between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at Akoma Unity Center (1367 N. California St.).

If you know of a child in need and would like them to participate here is what you need to know:

  • Child must be 17-years-old or younger.
  • Child must be present to receive their giveaway.
  • You must RSVP through Eventbrite to ensure the child participates.
  • Giveaway will be conducted on a first come, first serve basis.
